Ticketmaster is the dominant primary ticket seller in North America and the official box office for a large share of arenas, stadiums and theatres. Buying here means buying a first-sale ticket directly from the promoter's chosen seller, with the ticket delivered straight into your Ticketmaster account — usually as a rotating-barcode SafeTix mobile ticket that cannot be screenshotted.
Ticketmaster also runs its own resale marketplace alongside first-sale inventory, so a seat you see may be a fan listing rather than box-office stock; the listing type is labelled. Face value on many events is dynamically priced, and "Official Platinum" seats are market-priced first-sale tickets. Fees are set with the venue and vary widely by event. Presales (fan club, card partner, venue) are frequently the only way to get good seats at face value for high-demand shows. Ticketmaster is one of the main data sources for the events TixPanda lists.
Things to watch for
- Dynamic pricing means "face value" for a hot show can be far above the base price map.
- Fees vary by event and venue and are not shown until you select a seat.
- Queues and purchase limits apply at on-sale; have payment details saved in advance.
